Dear Supporters Feathers And Chicken Poop = Thousands Rehomed

“This is Goosie, my adult son's best friend.

She was a hyperactive chook, always off on her own, hunting for another fat slug or a wriggling worm, but she quickly learned she could pester my son into lifting garden pots and large stones or logs to reveal the juicy treats beneath!

“She would follow him everywhere, eager to go on another bug hunt. I should explain that she was a little bit unusual. We called her Goosie because she honked like a goose, instead of clucking like a chicken! And she had a funny way of running up to her hooman family, with her wings slightly out and her neck stretched out and up, like a goose!

“Sadly, in December she developed a respiratory infection and died on Christmas Day. We were devastated. She was such a cute and loveable character, losing her so suddenly was terrible. This is a rare photo of Goosie relaxing for a moment on her best friend's shoulders.”
