We love eggs of all kinds, particularly the good eggs who help further our work by raising funds to support it.
Funding the hen hub
Our Egg Club members have raised sufficient funds to kit out our learning hub at Hen Central in Devon. Their funds paid for everything from tables and chairs to signage and educational resources, and we’re hopeful to begin running courses for eager hen keepers soon.
A decade of Egg Club
This year marks 10 whole years of the most unique fundraising scheme you could join! To mark the occasion, we’re running a year-long celebration to encourage more of our rehomers to become Egg Club members and join the circle of hens helping hens. It’s simple – swap eggs for donations and give the proceeds back to the BHWT so that more hens benefit from their unique ability.

Richard’s walking for hens
For Richard Caile, his 60th wasn’t just an excuse to celebrate his big birthday, it was an opportunity to raise funds for his feathered friends. Richard, Dorset rehoming site coordinator, could have held a bake sale or done a sponsored silence but no – not for taking it easy, this spring Richard is walking the South West Coast Path, covering 630 miles and climbing 35,000 feet to boot. He is raising funds for the BHWT and Alzheimer’s Society, and we’re cheering him all the way. To donate, scan this QR code.
London Marathoners
A HUGE good cluck to Natalie Winchurch and Jamie Sinclair as they prepare to take on this year’s London Marathon for the BHWT. So far they’ve collectively raised more than £2,600 which we are so grateful for. We’ll be cheering you both on (from the sofa, sorry!).
