Payroll Giving In Conversation With: Mrs Hinch

Payroll Giving

Everyone loves it when payday rolls around, but with Payroll Giving there’s even more reason to get excited.

Payroll Giving is a super easy, tax-free way to donate to charity, with the money coming out of your account each month before tax, meaning your money goes even further.

So, if you’re a basic rate 20% taxpayer and donate £4 a month, we will receive £5. If you donate £8 it is worth £10 to us. Best of all, it’s a fully flexible, commitment-free scheme, so if at any time you wish to stop or change your donations it’s easy to do so.

Your employer can set it up for you, they simply contact a third-party agency like Charitable Giving or CAF who will handle the leg work.

If you want your donation to help a few more hens than you expected, now’s the time to get the ball (or the egg!) rolling.

BHWT supporter, Sophia Fannon Howell, told us: “I support the BHWT through Payroll Giving as the company I work for matches my charitable donations, which means the BHWT gets double the money! My regular donation is automatically taken out of my wages each month so I don't have to worry about setting up a direct debit from my personal bank account. The BHWT receives the matched donation automatically too.

“I have chosen to support the BHWT to give commercial hens a chance of a proper life and over the last 3 years I have adopted 18 lovely hens from the BHWT and given them a pampered retirement in Surrey.”
