Forever helping hens

The passing of a loved one is undoubtedly among the toughest events a person goes through in their life.

We were incredibly saddened when we learned of the passing of Gareth Harries, who supported the BHWT in so many ways, from running events dressed as a chicken to co-ordinating our Wiltshire rehoming site.

Not only that, he gave talks to community groups and rehomed a number of our hens and we were so touched to find out that he had also left a share of his estate to the charity, meaning his legacy of helping hens will live on.

By leaving a gift in his Will, Gareth’s incredible donation helps us secure a brighter future for thousands of hens. We all know the importance of making a Will but few of us really consider the difference that leaving money to charity could make. Gareth clearly knew what that money would mean to us, and we will be forever grateful to him for forever helping hens.
