Rehoming our One Millionth Hen
You won’t be surprised to learn that an event like rehoming our millionth hen did not simply happen overnight. Our founder, Jane, sheds more light on the planning that went into the wider strategy later on in the magazine, but here we look at the little details that made the lead up to the day, and indeed the day itself, such a success.
Our team visit to Highgrove
With all the excitement surrounding the one millionth hen, it wouldn’t feel right to rehome such a special hen without first inspecting her new home to check it was fit for the occasion (as IF it would be anything but...). Cue our Hen
Central team loading themselves onto a minibus on one of the hottest days of the year for a jaunt up to Highgrove Gardens.
Following a tour round the gardens, which included a trip to the orchard where Henrietta was to be rehomed, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch and a trip to the gift shop where lots of chicken-themed items were purchased (well, it would have been rude not to!).
We’d been told beforehand that absolutely no photos were to be taken on the day, but of course, we asked for an exception and so gathered for a celebratory shot before heading home, which you can see here. The sun and the setting got to us, so there was lots of silliness and excited giggling!
