This is fast becoming one of our favourite features in the magazine – could it be anything to do with the adorable little people and their feathered friends?
Here is another shining example. Pictured is little Anwen, who happens to be the daughter of our Boncath rehoming co-ordinator Jim, who said she has got over her fear of hens pecking her toes and now loves them. Hurrah! Lucky Anwen, and lucky hens.

There’s a gentler method of egg preservation that sees eggs coated in butter to seal their shells so bacteria can’t get inside. It’s been used in the UK for centuries and the eggs were traditionally stored in sawdust or straw.
