Boxed up and going home!

The last 18 months have been an incredibly challenging time for our rehoming teams. Luckily, with the help of some friends, we were soon back in full flight. We had Covid-19 systems put in place to keep everyone safe on rehoming days and, thanks to the Pets at Home Foundation (previously known as Support Adoption for Pets), this included being able to offer our adopters free “take-away” cardboard hen carriers to make the process even safer. The Foundation also generously supported us with emergency funding to help with rehoming costs including feed and vet care for poorly hens. They have been a lifeline during these abnormal times and we are hugely grateful to the Foundation for all they do.

Carriers are still available at some rehoming sites to adopters who would prefer to use them or who don’t have a suitable box.
