| Product Spotlight | ...And Finally |
Ah, that age old debate, which may well have been cracked. Spoiler alert: the egg came first. Scientists have concluded that the building blocks of female reproductive cells – or eggs – appeared way before chickens evolved. They discovered a single-cell species in Hawaiian marine sediments dating back more than a billion years ago which bears a striking similarity to animal embryos, suggesting nature was able to create eggs long before chickens. All we know is, we’re glad our feathered friends are here, whichever way nature delivered them.
Time for a silly one! Natures Grub is one of our wonderful partners who we chat chickens with regularly and conversations involve our two Megans here at the BHWT – Meg H and Meg C – and Meg T at Natures Grub, meaning email threads can often get confusing! We are always grateful to our partners and Natures Grub is re-committing their partnership with us on 15th April, which just so happens to be our 20th birthday... surely that’s poetry, or poultry, in motion.
Hidden amongst these pages is a little golden egg just waiting to be found. If you spot it, you could win a bundle courtesy of Natures Grub including Healthy Hen Herbs, Peck N Play, Fruit & Berry Popcorn and Coop Cookies.
To enter, visit our competitions page at bhwt.org.uk/getinvolved/competitions where you can submit the page number of the hidden egg before 30.05.2025.
