Did you know that our 900,000th hen found a wonderful home at the tail end of 2022 so we’re now officially on a countdown to our ONE MILLIONTH hen – what a celebration that will be for all of us to share!
In the meantime, January 2023 saw 2,000 hens wing their way to new homes followed by more than 5,000 in February and, as you can see, our volunteers were delighted to be back in action!
These shots come from our wonderful Cambridge team who sent more than 200 happy hens off to new homes on 4th February, getting their year off to a good start.
We’re hopeful that 2023 will see many more hens rehomed than the previous year, and our aim is to get to 50,000 before the year’s out.
An event for your diary
Speaking of future plans, we’re holding a webinar on Wednesday, 19th April at 6pm which will feature a chat with our Mother Hen Jane Howorth. We’ll explore the BHWT’s history and look at what we’ve got planned for hens in the future. Keep an eye on our social media and emails for more information.
