Police save Easter with Crème Egg haul

Police joked that they ‘saved Easter’ after finding a lorry-load of stolen chocolate containing 200,000 Cadbury’s Crème Eggs.

The huge haul of chocolate was stolen from a warehouse in Shropshire and thought to be worth around £40,000.

West Mercia Police joked on Twitter: “Shortly after... a vehicle, presumably purporting to be the Easter bunny, was stopped northbound on the M42 and a 32-year-old man was arrested”.

Speaking of labels, do you know what the codes on a shop-bought egg mean? All eggs have a code like this stamped onto them: 0UK54321. The first number denotes the farming method (0=organic, 1=free range, 2=barn, 3=cage), the second two letters show the country of origin and the remaining numbers are specific to the farm where the egg was laid.
