| The Hen Effect On A Global Scale | St Clement's Squares |
Dear supporters
OK, cover your ears I’m going to whoop whoop ever so loudly! Why? Because we have rehomed our 900,000th hen!! I have to pinch myself that we have achieved this milestone and we are now on our way towards getting hands on our ONE MILLIONTH HEN!! Expect more noise the closer we get to reaching her ...
You can read about hen number 900,000, now affectionately known as family pet Lottie, on page 10 as well as find out about the idea she inspired to launch a BHWT Lottery! We give you the chance to win, whilst you get the chance to help fund our rehoming work. Win : win!
In this edition you can read the results to our latest Hensus survey; you remind us, of course, how much you love your pets but we were also pleasantly surprised to learn that more of you are tapping into our resources even though you haven’t adopted from us – all are welcome.
I always find it humbling that our volunteers work so hard for the love of our hens; we simply wouldn’t be what we are today without them. In this issue we give you some fascinating insights into a tiny handful, all united through a shared love of helping hens.
We've got a super-duper, tippy-toppy competition for all you bakers
out there and we have not one, but two inspirational interviews with ladies who have made their passion their business on pages 25-27.
Throw into the mix some exclusive and very cute kids’ t-shirt designs – just in time for Easter – a heart-warming story about fowl friendship that goes beyond the norm and you have Chicken & Egg magazine ahead of you to enjoy.
Cuppa, cake and sofa are the only recommended additions needed to max the warm and cosy glow that will come from reading what we (that’s YOU and the charity) are collectively achieving for our beloved chickens.
Thank you so much for helping us to help hens.
And finally, just a note to please let us know if you’re reading this in hard copy and would prefer a digital version instead. Email [email protected] to tell us your preference.
