| Dear Supporters | That's Hentertainment |
We won’t harp on about it too much, but did you know we rehomed our millionth hen last year? Only to His Majesty the King, no big deal...
After that, of course, the hard work simply continued so our attention turned to 2025. Whilst the year started well, Avian Influenza then began to dampen our efforts, meaning February wasn’t quite as fruitful as we’d hoped when it came to hen numbers.
However, with the arrival of spring came a renewed effort to find homes for as many of our feathered friends as possible and this year so far more than 9,200 hens have winged their way to a free-range retirement, with 1,500 in April and a whopping 12,000 due to be adopted throughout May.
Not only that, thanks to your incredible response to our Christmas Appeal, we are hard at work setting up some of the new host sites you helped fund. Two are underway, with the hope that all four will be achieved before the year is out. As always, we are so grateful for your commitment to helping us help hens, and you can read more about our next appeal on page 29.
