It’s a pretty nice ‘job’ creating and posting fun, engaging content involving hens, and the biggest win comes from seeing you all enjoying it, too. A huge thank you goes to everyone who shares their happy hen photos and videos with us – we love that you’re a part of our social media community inside and out. Here are some of our highlights from the past few months.
This incredible reel showed an adopter having to collect her hen from a neighbour’s garden and doing the ‘walk of shame’ back home. Our audience absolutely loved it, with over 80,000 people watching it so far! Spot the comment from Mrs Hinch, too.
We had to get involved with the ‘I met my younger self for coffee’ trend which featured a rehomed hen talking to her younger self on the day she was saved from slaughter. The powerful and poignant messaging was seen by over 25,000 people.
Reels have been among our top performing content on Instagram, and this one featuring a hen jumping for berries in her garden really hit the spot with our followers. It received over 3,200 likes and was watched by over 53,000 people.
Whenever we ask, our supporters respond, and this post calling for more adopters in Scotland was no different, with over 200 of you sharing it meaning it reached 39,390 people and undoubtedly saved many lives.
BHWT supporter and all-round hen hero Kat Shovlin appeared on Dragons’ Den back in January to pitch her hen hotel business. While she didn’t get investment, she put hens on a national stage and the post we shared about it was very well received.
We just loved this photo, and the cheeky caption alongside it, referencing the meeting of the Secret Hen Society, hit a chord with you all! This is what social media is all about – showing off our hens’ characters and funny exploits in the hope of saving as many as possible from slaughter.
