A thumping big thank you to Sheepdrove Organic Farm

Spread across 2,500 acres of pasture, meadows, woodland, and fields high on the Berkshire Downs, lies Sheepdrove Organic Farm. Established in the 1990s, the farm has diversified over the years to include an events centre, wedding venue, holiday lodgings and natural burial ground.

With a strong focus on sustainability, biodiversity and environmentally responsible projects, the farm is renowned for its exceptional conservation work and habitat creation for birds and other wildlife.

It is home to 25 species of butterfly, 10 species of bee, six species of bat and 104 species of bird (including five types of owl). Not to mention ex-bat hens from the BHWT who have also been lucky enough to call the farm their home since July 2021.

Alongside all of this, the farm also has a charitable arm known as the Sheepdrove Trust, and we were extremely grateful to receive a £5,000 donation from the Trust earlier this year.

From all of us at the BHWT, thank you! This money will help us to continue our lifesaving work rehoming hens and develop pioneering new ways to improve hen welfare for commercial and pet flocks.
