Enough of the cold dark nights, bring out the daffodils, the warm sunshine and all things spring! Along with our hens, thousands of whom have had to be extra patient in waiting for our volunteers to scoop them up in their arms, we have been itching to get going again, and we are!

For all sorts of reasons this really is quite an exciting edition – we have hens (the best news obviously), we have news of Chicken Run II – did you even know there was going to be one?! We have baby dinosaurs and hens learning how to do DIY (well that’s possibly stretching it a bit, but you’ll see what I mean on page 40).

We share with you how we are using your generous Christmas Appeal donations, trust me your kindness is already being used to great effect and we also have a model illustration of how a poorly hen can thrive and love life in our And Finally section.

Throw in our lovely competition prize courtesy of The Simple Life magazine, some good eggs, some great Egg Clubbers and gorgeous Easter recipes and shop treats and you have quite a loaded edition.

Oh, and last but definitely not least, we’ve an update on our veterinary course – it’s the most exciting news and years of work coming to fruition.
